About

Our Story

Our ethos is deeply rooted in the prairies & influenced by what grows in our gardens

St Tropez Bistro, an integral piece of Downtown Saskatoon’s dining scene since 1979, has a rich history. Originally located on Third Avenue South, the restaurant moved to its current location on Second Avenue South in 1998. The historic building, formally known as the Hanson Building & home to the first branch of the Bank Of Nova Scotia, has over 115 years of character & charm, making it the perfect home for The Bistro

Second-generation owners Cher & Jason are committed to using fresh & local ingredients whenever possible. They have transformed the rooftop of The Bistro into a thriving garden, which has grown from a few pots of herbs – to a greenhouse where seedlings are started – along with a 1000 square feet of large planters containing heirloom tomatoes, squash, herbs, peppers, beans & edible flowers

In 2015 their Rooftop Garden expanded with the purchase of land southwest of Saskatoon along the South Saskatchewan River. It’s there that Cher & Jason spend their days off gardening, foraging & taking in a prairie sunset or two. In 2019, the second floor of The Bistro welcomed Parlor, a cozy cocktail bar that also boasts a well cureated selection of whisky, gin, agave spirits and wine.
